The UVC Lock is equipped with the latest UVC technology and is optimized in regards to hygiene, usability and easy maintenance. Eliminating bacteria on products and packaging materials and storage boxes is one major requirement for the shelf life and hygiene of food and especially in the salads, vegetables and fruit processing industry.
UVC treatment with sterilAir® components disinfects in a highly effective, safe and reliable way: without heat, undesirable additives or residues and within very short times. When you also compare this with the option of water spraying this system ensure your working area remains clean and safe and its also very cost effective.
The capacity of the machine depends on the product and the contact time, which determines the degree of germ reduction. At belt speeds of 0.05 to 0.3 m/s, for example, up to three tonnes of cabbages or up to two tonnes of carrots or onions are disinfected per hour. When disinfecting transport crates (600 x 400 x 250 mm), the machine can achieve capacities such as up to 900 crates per hour at a belt speed of 0.2 m/s.
